MY SWIMMING JOURNEY

My name is Jinal Pitroda, and swimming has been one of the most important parts of my life. My journey began when I was just 6 years old and in 2013 from the competition I was selected for dlss(district level sports school) in Vadodara. What started as learning a life skill soon became my greatest passion and shaped me into the person I am today.

Years of consistent training, determination, and hard work have helped me grow as both an athlete and a coach. Swimming has taught me discipline, resilience, time management, teamwork, and the confidence to overcome challenges. Every practice session, competition, and achievement has strengthened my belief that success comes through dedication and perseverance.

Throughout my competitive career, I have proudly represented my school, university, and state in major swimming events. My achievements include participating in 2 School Games Federation of India (SGFI) National School Games, winning a National medal in the 5 km Open Water Swimming Championship, participating in the 10 km Open Water Swimming Championship, and competing in the 30 km National Open Water Swimming Championship, where I finished among the Top 10 swimmers.

One of the proudest moments of my journey was being selected for the khelo India beach games in both the 5 km and 10 km open water swimming events. I also represented my university at the all India inter university games, gaining valuable experience by competing against some of the country’s best athletes.

Beyond swimming competitions, I successfully completed a 150 km kayaking expedition in 10 days. This expedition tested my physical endurance, mental strength, teamwork, and determination, making it one of the most memorable experiences of my sporting career.

As my experience grew, I developed a passion for teaching others. I have 3 years of swimming coaching experience, including 1 year as a swimming coach at an international school. Coaching has allowed me to guide swimmers of different ages and skill levels, helping them build confidence, improve their techniques, and develop a lifelong love for swimming. Teaching young swimmers has strengthened my leadership, patience, communication, and mentoring skills.

Swimming has given me opportunities to compete at the highest levels, inspire others, and dream bigger. It has also motivated me to build a career in sports. In the future, I aspire to continue growing as an athlete and coach.

For me, swimming is more than just a sport—it is a way of life. It has taught me courage, discipline, resilience, and the value of hard work. Every stroke I take in the water reminds me that with determination and dedication, no goal is too far to achieve. My journey continues, and I am committed to inspiring the next generation of swimmers while striving for excellence in every aspect of my life.
